My mother's day was great...not exactly how I had planned it, but great non-the-less. I ran a 5k first thing in the morning, went to church, went to Mom's with Deanna's family, went to Nana's and then had a soccer game that night. The girl's were AMAZING all day...they played for hours at Grandmas with Kai and all the kids had so much fun. There was no whining, no clinging..nothing. Somehow...they just new it was mother's day and they were supposed to spoil me!! However, they didn't nap much during the day, so when we got home from Grandma's, they were EXHAUSTED!!! I brought them in the house and the were out cold on the couch...they NEVER do that. If you wake them up from the car, they are up...they never go back to sleep. I tried to wake them up an hour later and they wanted NO part of it...they ended up taking a 2.5 hour nap (which resulted in a 9:45 bedtime...ughh). But...it ended up being good because I got to spend a lot of time with them after my soccer game!
I realized yesterday the the most important part about Mother's day is being with these sweet babies...nothing else matters! Spending a day with my mom, my babies, and the best mom I know (Deanna) was just the best gift I could have received! I love you Mommy, sister and babies!!
