Food & Bonding...

So, I took these pictures as an example of how my kids are such weird toddlers!  This is their ideal meal!  This was dinner one night this week and they devoured every bite.  The LOVE brown rice, they LOVE veggies, and they always get so excited when we are having fish (definitely got this from their Daddy!).  There are times when I feel really guilty when I give them a lollipop to pacify them at my soccer games or we take them out for ice cream for the second time in a week...but then they get so excited when I serve them green peas or salad (Isabella could seriously eat nothing but lettuce and be SO happy...she BEGS for "leaves" when we have it in the fridge!) or hummus and I realize that they are doing pretty well for 2 year olds!!  I am so grateful that they haven't become picky eaters yet...I am going to try to drag this out as long as I can :)

This picture just makes me smile because I LOVE family dinners!  Cesar has fixed his schedule so that we get to eat family dinners at least 4-5 times a week and the girls just absolutely LOVE it!  They talk non-stop, eat more, and just seem so at ease when we all sit down and eat together!  I  L-O-V-E it!!

Generally, I am making dinner during "TV time", but on nights when I have dinner in the crockpot, I sit down on the couch to read while they watch TV.  They have recently been coming up and curling up next to me as they watch and I read.  It is so cozy!  It makes me excited for the day when we let them watch an entire movie and we can all cuddle up on the couch, under a blanket with a bowl of popcorn to watch together!
