July 4th

What a fun July 4th weekend we had!!  We started off with no real plans and ended up doing so much that the girls went to bed EXHAUSTED every night!  July 4th morning, there was a parade in our neighborhood.  We went to watch, but ended up just joining in and riding in the parade.  The girls were SUPER tired, so this picture below is pretty much what they looked like the entire time...until they got a lolipop at the end...then they perked up a bit :)  After the parade, we went home and I forced the girls to nap and they (and I) slept for 2.5 hours.  It was pretty awesome!  Then we had a BBQ at our neighbors and we put out a bounce house, a crazy sprikler, and other fun stuff for the kids.  After we ate, we lit sparklers, which ended up not being a great idea as Bella burned her thumb pretty bad and is now terrified of them.  Oh well...anyway, then we went to the Costco parking lot with our neighbors and some other friends to watch the fireworks (which we could actually see pretty well this year!).  All in all, it was a GREAT day!!  Saturday and Sunday was full of time with neighbors, pool visits, fishing trips, and time as a family.  Best weekend we have had in a long time!!

More sparklers at the fireworks

Notice Bella's "sparkler"...she was using a sand rake!

The ice cream man came right before the fireworks went off...Cesar (the biggest kid of all) bought everyone popsicles the kids & adults all had a treat as we watched!

Sunday we went to a local river to play (the girls), fish (Cesar), and read (ME!).
