Stats

OK..still looking for time to put up the b-day pics...but in the meantime....here are their stats from their 1 year doctor's appt. today...

Leah: Weight: 20lbs 1 oz (25-50th percentile),
Height: 29.5 inches (50-75th percentile)
Head: 45.5 inches (50-75th percentile)

Isabella: Weight: 18lbs 11.5 oz (10-25th percentile)
Height: 28 inches (25th percentile)
Head: 46 (75th percentile)

SO...it looks like Isabella has caught up a little...she is less than two pounds lighter...AND...she isn't as tall, so Leah's heaviness can be attributed to height and not just a bigger belly :)

Isabella is still our cabeson (big head)!! Must mean she has a bigger brain!! I am sure she will remind Leah of this when she is older. Just like Deanna used to tell me that my brain wasn't fully developed (and I believed her and cried...poor me..), I am sure isabella will similarly torture her sister!

The doctor said everything looked great and they are doing a great job climbing the height and weight chart. The first time we went to the doctor (when they were about 13 days old), they were not even on the chart..and now they are right in the middle!!

We are cleared to start giving them any and all foods...we will start with whole milk tomorrow and maybe try some peanut butter! It is nice not to have any restrictions...and to get rid of the formula...woo-hoo!! We have been trying to get rid of the bottles. This week we transitioned from a bottle to a sippy cup in the morning so the only bottle they get now is before bed. Next week we will try to go from bottle to sippy cup at night and then try to get rid of the need for milk before sleep within the next couple weeks. I am VERY nervous about this because right now they seem to really depend on the milk for sleep. I have been really sticking to a very specific schedule the last two weeks at bedtime...bath, play, then a book and song while they eat the bottle. I am hoping this will help the weaning of the bottle easier. If anyone has any advice for this I would love to hear it!!!!

SLEEP...last week the girls must have been going through a major growth spurt because they were eating crazy amounts of food, pooping all day long, and they were on a very weird sleep schedule! They thought 4am was wake up time and refused to go back to sleep. It was driving me crazy and I was afraid they were just changing their schedule, but....halleluja...the last two days, they have been back to normal. Plus..they aren't' waking up in the middle of the night anymore...so 7am-5:30am with no wake-ups is a good schedule for me!!! Hope it continues.

More updates to come with the birthday pictures....
