Last snow day (hopefully!!)

The sick

Last week we were hit hard with sickness!!  Leah started out one night with a fever that she couldn't kick.  Two days later her throat was hurting and she was starting to get a rash on her face and arms.  Scarlet Fever!  Yuck.  It took a day for her fever to go away and she was finally smiling again!!  Then, Sunday we went to my soccer game and then went out to dinner afterwards.  The girls were happily playing and coloring and then all the sudden, Bella got "tired" and put her head down.  Cesar felt her and she was burning up and she fell asleep in his lap for all of dinner.  Never seen an illness come on someone so quick.  Strep Throat.  Two days later...the biggest baby of my three kids got sick :)  Cesar had strep with a fever for two days.  Of course I clearly have an immune system of steel since not only did my whole family get it, but so did my coworker that shares my desk and all of Cesar's coworkers!!

Pitiful Leah

Finally Smiling after the fever went down.

The girls had to miss a birthday party because of the sickness, so we made our own cake to cheer them up!

Popsicles to help the throats

Puppies!!

Our friends are fostering these adorable puppies for a week and the girls have had so much fun loving on them!!!

Hair Cuts

Yesterday we FINALLY got a legit snow day!  Woo-Hoo!!  The roads were cleared pretty fast and after sledding in the morning, we were pretty bored by the end of the day.  So, the girls agreed to get their hair cut!!  Here are a few pics...they look so grown up!

SNOW...

We have NOT gotten enough snow yet this year...but the few days we have received...we took full advantage of!!  Hopefully we will get a big storm sometime in February!!

Sledding down the "big hill" by our house.

The Ong Family.  One of our favs!

They have decided that it is more fun to slide on their bellies than with sleds.

Over the past week...

Today we went to the library! They had a "read to a dog" program going on, so the girls helped "patch"'s owner read him "Green Eggs and Ham." I love the dog's eyes in this picture!!

This is pretty much how we spend any free-time.  The girls are OBSESSED with Monopoly Jr.  We play at least twice a day on school days and 5-10 times on weekends.

On Friday, before my stomach flu kicked in, I had a conference with the girls' teachers.  The first two reports were the first ones they gave me....

I have become good friends with one of the teachers (I coached her daughter and have taught all three of her kids), and I keep telling her she needs to either come up and teach Kindergarten in Urbana or I am going to have a rough year next year.  She sends me updates on the girls during the day, sends me pics when they are doing cute things, and is just a great friend!  I am going to really miss that next year.  Below are their real reports!

As I said, Friday I had the stomach flu (same day I had to drive Cesar to Dulles for a 15 day trip to Ecuador/Columbia).  I let the girls play with my phone while I "rested" on the couch.  I woke up to this picture of me...

And all of these as well...the girls have an app on my phone and they create the funniest pics!!

The girls and my co-worker's baby Quinn at our soccer game last weekend.

We are upgrading to booster seats!!  Woo-Hoo...another step to becoming "big girls"
